SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Redshirt senior
Jha'Quan Anderson has been named the Southern Conference's Wrestler of the Month for January, the conference announced on Tuesday.
A native of Conyers, Ga., Anderson went 10-0 through the month January. He began the month going 5-0 to come in first place at the184-weightclass at the 2024 Southern Scuffle (Jan. 1-2). He became the first SoCon wrestler to place first at the Scuffle since 2004.
He went on to pick five more victories besting his opponent in Gardner-Webb's matches against the University of Virginia (Jan. 6), Cleveland State University (Jan. 11), Lock Haven University (Jan. 11), Duke University (Jan. 16), and Bellarmine University (Jan. 28).
Anderson is 20-6 on the year, and has not given up a take down since the Black Knight Invite (Nov. 19).
