BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University softball opened Big South play against the Lancers of Longwood University with a scheduled doubleheader. The Runnin' Bulldogs took game one 10-0 in five innings via run rule prior to dropping game two 4-0 in the full seven.

Andrea Lyon that went off the indoor facility in leftfield.
Emily Garcia singled in the third tallying another before putting up another four spot in the fourth inning.

Kayleigh Nicholson hit flew out to score 10 setting up the five-inning shutout with. Lyon recorded her ninth win of the season in the circle.
It was the Lancers that got the scoring going in game two. Despite a solid start from
Kalyn Kyle, Longwood got one across in the first, and another in the third. Holding a 2-0 lead, a series of good baserunning decisions allowed them to extend the lead to 4-0. Longwood held on to that lead through the three innings to win the game.
