19 total awards handed out, Abby Clark named recipient of Mike Roebuck Award
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – On Wednesday night at Paul Porter Arena, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted The Webbys, Gardner-Webb's annual end of the school year athletics awards show. In total, 19 honors were awarded to GWU student-athletes, coaches, and staff.
"As we celebrate the 2023-24 accomplishments on and off the field of our very talented student-athletes, The Webbys also provides us an opportunity to thank those unsung heroes behind the scenes," said Vice President & Director of Athletics Dr. Andrew T. Goodrich. "We're so grateful to the campus staff, coaches, and community leaders who support our Runnin' Bulldog student-athletes every single day and give them an opportunity to chase their dreams."
The evening culminated with the presentation of Gardner-Webb's highest athletic honor, the Mike Roebuck Award, given to Abby Clark of the women's soccer team. This award is presented each year to the student athlete who best represented a spirit of selflessness, giving, sportsmanship, outstanding academics, and care for others during their collegiate career, honoring the legacy of GWU's former Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services Mike Roebuck.
