BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Zach Weisz was named the new Assistant Coach of the Gardner-Webb University baseball program, announced by GWU Head Baseball Coach
Jim Chester on Monday.
"We couldn't be more excited to welcome Zach and fiancée Megan to the Gardner-Webb baseball family! His experiences at two of the top programs in the country will pay major dividends in our players and programs development. We hit a home-run with Zach, he is one of the top young minds in college baseball."
Weisz joins the Gardner-Webb family after spending two seasons as Director of Baseball Operations at Coastal Carolina University. His key responsibilities included managing off the field and game day operations, implementing technology solutions to increase team performance, and the organization of practices and camps. Weisz was on staff for the Chanticleers' 2023 Sun Belt Conference Championship, and hosting of the Conway Regional.
Prior to Coastal Carolina, Weisz served for two seasons as a Graduate Assistant at his alma mater California State University, Fullerton. In his time as a player for the program the Titans won a pair of Big West Championships (2016, 2018), advanced to the 2017 College World Series in Omaha, and hosted a Super Regional in 2018. He also won a 2019 GSAC Tournament Championship as a player with Hope International University, where they participated in the Faulkner Regional.
Weisz earned his bachelors in American studies, and masters in history both from Cal State Fullerton.
