
Runnin' Bulldogs Take 5th at Tot Hill Farm Invitational

ASHEBORO, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University women's golf team used a solid final round of play to finish in 5th at the 2024 Tot Hill Farm Invitational on September 23-24. After firing team scores of 301 (+13) and 307 (+19) over the first 36 holes, the Runnin' Bulldogs wrapped up the tournament with a 297 (+9) and a three-round total of 905 (+41).
Senior Neza Siftar recorded her second consecutive top 10 finish after leading the Black and Red with a 54-hole score of 222 (+6). Siftar opened play with a one-over, 73 before losing five strokes in round two with a 78 (+5). However, a 71 (-1) in the final round gave Siftar her lone round in the red.
Freshman Eva Bulger and junior Georgia Barr each carded scores of 229 (+13) while finishing in a tie for 24th. Both golfers shot a 76 (+4) to open play in round one before Bulger fired a 75 (+3) over the second 18. Barr netted a 77 (+5) in her second round. Wrapping up the three-round event, Bulger tallied a 78 (+6) while Barr turned in a 76 (+4).
Senior Vileska Gelpi proved to be consistent over her three rounds of action, carding respective scores of 79 (+7), 75 (+3), and 75 (+3) for a 54-hole total of 233 (+17). Tying her in 32nd was senior Kayla Dowell, who made the biggest improvement over three rounds.
Dowell fired a 76 (+4) in round one before falling off the pace in round two with an 84 (+12). However, the senior saved her best for last, jumping 17 spots on the individual leaderboard following a final round score of 73 (+1).
Gardner-Webb will return to the links on September 30-October 1, traveling to Greeneville, N.C. to take part in the ECU Pirate Invitational hosted by East Carolina University.
