In total, the Runnin' Bulldogs placed five players in double-digits, including a game-high 20 from sophomore guard
Darryl Simmons II. Graduate guard
Anthony Selden posted 18 on 6-of-8 shooting while redshirt-sophomore guard
Shahar Lazar tallied 11. Graduate forward
Jamaine Mann also picked up his first double-double with 10 points and 10 boards.
Gardner-Webb had little trouble on the offensive end of the floor, knocking down 34-of-69 shots, including a season-high 17 three-pointers. The 'Dawgs also controlled the glass with a 46-37 advantage in rebounds.
Mann started the game with a tough layup off an offensive rebound on the first possession for GWU before Selden knocked down the first of many threes on the night while the Runnin' Bulldogs built a commanding 48-21 lead with six minutes to play in the half. The Spartans outscored GWU 12-8 down the stretch but it would be the home team that held a 56-33 lead at the break.
The 15-minute hiatus did nothing to slow down the Runnin' Bulldogs as Gardner-Webb built as many as a 36-point lead, 97-61, well on its way to the comfortable margin of victory.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will be back in action on Wednesday, January 22, playing host to the Bulldogs of UNC Asheville in a Big South Showdown. Game time is set for 7 p.m. inside the Lutz-Yelton Convocation Center.
