CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Redshirt freshman guard Spence Sims has been tabbed Big South Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Sims averaged 11.5 points off the bench and was 7-of-12 from three-point range in contests at Minnesota and Clemson. He opened the season with 12 points and four three-pointers vs. the Golden Gophers to finish as GWU's second-leading scorer. Sims then shared the team-high with 11 points against the Tigers, was 3-of-5 from long distance and 4-of-6 from the field overall.
Sims and the Runnin' Bulldogs open the home portion of its schedule tonight, playing host to North Greenville University. Tip for that contest is slated for 7 p.m. inside Paul Porter Arena.
