Defending Champs Enter Big South Men's Soccer Championship as No. 2 Seed

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Coming off a thrilling 2-1 come-from-behind win at UNC Asheville on Saturday, November 1st, the Gardner-Webb men's soccer team has earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Big South Men's Soccer Championship.

The victory was the 12th of the year for the Runnin' Bulldogs, who have won double-digit games in back-to-back years for the first time since becoming a Division I program.

The top six teams in the final standings qualify for the league's postseason championship which will be contested Nov. 5, 9, and 15 at campus sites. High Point won the conference regular season for the third consecutive year and receives a bye into the semifinal round. The Panthers will play host to the winner of No. 4 UNC Asheville and No. 5 USC Upstate.

Defending champion Gardner-Webb finished the regular season with 16 points after going 5-1-1 in league play and will await the winner of No. 3 Presbyterian and No. 6 Radford.

The 2025 Big South Men's Soccer Championship will be played at higher seeds throughout the tournament, and every match of the championship will be shown on ESPN+. The Big South's Tournament Champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship. The full schedule is as follows.

Wednesday, November 5 – First Round at Higher Seeds (ESPN+)

No. 5 USC Upstate at No. 4 UNC Asheville 6 p.m.

No. 6 Radford at No. 3 Presbyterian 7 p.m.

Sunday, November 9 – Semifinals at Higher Seeds (ESPN+)

3/6 Winner at No. 2 Gardner-Webb 6 p.m.

4/5 Winner at No. 1 High Point 6 p.m.

Saturday, November 15 – Championship at Highest Remaining Seed (ESPN+)
