Jacob Hogarth posted a career game in the win over Brevard, with 23 points and 23 rebounds on 10-of-14 shooting. The sophomore from Brooklyn, New York is averaging 11 points and 8.8 rebounds at a .558% clip this season, and his 23 rebounds on Friday are tied for the second-most in a single game in Big South history, according to the league record book
Spence Sims has emerged as one of the go-to players for Gardner-Webb this season. The redshirt freshman from Fairhope, Ala. has won Big South Freshman of The Week four times, scoring 10.9 points per game, while shooting .491% from three. This includes a season-high 20 points against Georgia Southern on December 6th and double-figures nine times to date
The Terriers enter Monday night at Paul Porter Arena with a 6-4 record to begin the season and under first-year head coach Kevin Giltner. The most recent victory for Wofford came back on December 3rd, a 63-56 home victory over Presbyterian, followed by a 73-52 defeat at Elon on December 6th
Saturday's contest marks the 14th all-time meeting between Gardner-Webb and Wofford and the sixth season in a row the two sides have met in the non-conference. The Terriers have won seven straight in the series, with the most recent win for GWU coming in 1995 by a final of 92-77 in Boiling Springs.
