BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's basketball team returns to the friendly confines of Paul Porter Arena while playing host to Georgia Southern on Saturday, December 6.

Gardner-Webb is still searching for its first win of the season after playing nine of the first 10 games of the season away from home. The Runnin' Bulldogs are led in scoring by Jacob Hudson and Spence Sims as each pour in 9.8 per game. Sims has also garnered three Big South Freshman of the Week honors.
Jacob Hogarth chips in 9.6 points and a team-high 7.3 boards per game for the Dawgs. As a team, GWU is scoring 66.8 points per game while allowing 92.1 per contest. The Runnin' Bulldogs shoot .391 from the field, including .315 from distance. In addition, Gardner-Webb has a .688 free throw percentage.
Georgia Southern comes into the contest with a 5-5 overall record, including a 93-90 win over GWU's conference foe UNC Asheville. The Eagles have also defeated Florida Gulf Coast and Louisiana Tech. GSU has a perfect 4-0 mark at home but controls a 1-3 record in road games.
The Eagles are scoring 74.2 points per game while allowing 75.9 each contest. Adante' Holiman leads Georgia Southern in scoring with 16.9 points per game while Bradley Douglas and Nakavieon White pour in 12.6 and 10.3 points per game, respectively. Tyson Brown pulls down a team-high 6.8 boards per game.
Saturday's contest marks the fourth all-time meeting between Gardner-Webb and Georgia Southern. The Eagles took an 86-81 win on December 17, 2024. The lone win for the Runnin' Bulldogs came back in the 2001-02 season with GWU coming away with a 106-99 final score.
