DURHAM, N.C. – Left-handed pitcher Reid Bertram of the Gardner-Webb baseball team has been named to the Coastal Plain League East All-Star team as announced by the association on Monday, June 30.

Bertram, toeing the rubber for the Morehead City Marlins, has put together a stellar summer, compiling a 2-0 record to go along with a 1.10 earned run average. Over 16.1 innings, Bertram has struck out 16 batters compared to only two walks. His best outing of the season came on June 27, tossing five full innings of two-hit baseball while leading the Marlins to a 4-1 win over Tobs.

The players were voted upon within their division (East and West) by CPL head coaches, front office staff, broadcasters and local media representatives from each market. Since the game is being played in Macon, the West CPL All-Stars will be the home team while the East CPL All-Stars will serve as the visitors.
