Runnin' Bulldogs Look to Rebound at Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Coming off its first loss of the season, the Gardner-Webb men's soccer team looks to bounce back strong against Lipscomb on Tuesday, September 16.

In the last outing, the Runnin' Bulldogs were handed a 4-1 defeat at the hands of No. 9 Furman, the first loss of the season. The Paladins scored two goals in the first three minutes of the game, and after GWU trimmed the deficit in half, posted two more scores down the stretch for the win.

Leading the Dawgs is Jaylen Orr, who has four goals to go along with one assist for nine points total. Robbie Lyons, in his first year at Gardner-Webb, has posted a pair of goals and a team-leading three assists. Nine different players have recorded at least one goal for the Runnin' Bulldogs.

Keeper Alan Horrocks holds a .83 goals against average as well as a .750 save percentage. He has played all 540 minutes in goal for the Dawgs while garnering four clean sheets on the season.

Lipscomb comes into the game with a 1-3-2 overall record and a 1-1-1 mark on its home turf. The Bison opened the season with a draw versus Memphis before dropping a 4-1 decision vs South Florida.

They picked up their first win of the season, a 2-0 victory over Mercer, but have gone 0-2-1 over the last three games.

Levi Jones and Diego Ramirez lead the Bison with two goals each while William Bryan has provided a team-best two assists. Alex Kara is the featured goalie for Lipscomb, playing in 450 minutes while allowing 2.0 goals per game. Backup Noah Kump has seen action in one game with all 90 minutes played, giving up one goal.

The Bison hold a minimal 5-4 advantage over Gardner-Webb after taking the last meeting 3-2 on September 12, 2014. The Runnin' Bulldogs won the first ever meeting by the final of 8-2 during the 2001 season.
