BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The No. 12 Gardner-Webb (7-1, 1-0 Big South) steps out of conference on Tuesday evening, playing host to the Eagles of Florida Gulf Coast at Greene-Harbison Stadium.
A Look at Gardner-Webb
The Runnin' Bulldogs enter the contest at 7-1while being ranked No. 12 in the Sept. 22 Top Drawer Soccer Poll. Gardner-Webb's only blemish on the schedule came against Furman. Last week, they earned 3-0 and 4-0 wins over Lipscomb and Winthrop, respectively. Graduate midfielder Robbie Lyons, freshman forward Javan Ochieng and senior forward Jaylen Orr have found the net four times each, while senior keeper Alan Horrocks has 18 saves, six clean sheets and just five goals allowed in 2025.
Scouting Florida Gulf Coast
The Eagles enter the match coming off a 2-0 loss at FIU. Goalkeeper Oliver Weng recorded a career-high nine saves, but FGCU was held scoreless for the first time in September and just the second time all season to fall to 4-3-1. On the campaign, FGCU is led offensively by Caio Oliveira and Edson Murguia. The duo have combined for eight of the Eagles' 14 goals and each have a pair of assists.
