BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's golf team opened the fall portion of its 2025-26 schedule with a 6th place finish at the Bryan National Collegiate on Sunday, September 7.
As a team, the Runnin' Bulldogs combined for a score of 887 (+23) after firing 296 (+8) over the first two rounds and 287 (+7) in round three.
Playing in his first tournament with Gardner-Webb, Jude Carper brought home a T-20th following a three-round combined score of 220 (+4). The freshman fired an opening round score of 74 (+2) before posting back-to-back rounds of 73 (+1).
Teammate Jack Boyer also tied Carper for 20th place overall after carding rounds of 72 (E), 75 (+3) and 73 (+1).
Sophomore Reed Burton blistered the course over the first two rounds, posting a pair of 1-under 71s, but finished his tournament with an 85 (+13) and a tie for 45th.
Junior Connor Key came in 55th with a 2-day total of 230 (+14). After opening his tournament with a 79 (+7), Key improved his score over the final two rounds, firing a 77 (+5) and 74 (+3) in rounds two and three, respectively.
Rounding out the performers for GWU were Bradley Davis Jr. and Pattrasuth Boonthumrongkit, who finished with combined scores of 231 (+15) and 232 (+16).
Gardner-Webb will return to the links on September 22-23, traveling to Philadelphia, Pa. to take part in the Temple Intercollegiate.
