Runnin' Bulldogs Head to Campbell for Non-Conference Showdown

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Gardner-Webb (0-1) women's lacrosse returns to the field on Wednesday, February 11, traveling to face the Fighting Camels of Campbell (0-1). Game time is slated for 4 p.m.

The Runnin' Bulldogs opened the 2026 season with a tough 15-14 loss at Austin Peay. During that contest, freshman Maddy Tredway led the way with a game-high five goals to go along with one assist. Emma Duchscherer added a trio of scores and a helper.

As a team, Gardner-Webb went 5-for-6 from the free position area while totaling 26 shots, including 18 on goal. Emma Anderson tallied a team-high nine groundballs while Abby Consaul anchored the defense with four groundballs and three caused turnovers. The Dawgs struggled at the draw control, collecting only five compared to 26 for Austin Peay.

Campbell comes into the contest with an 0-1 record after dropping its season-opener, 14-8, at Jacksonville. Paige White scored four goals for the Fighting Camels while Bridget Ahlgren added two scores.

Adria Welsh played all 60 minutes in goal, giving up 14 goals while collecting 11 saves. The Camels struggled in free position attempts, connecting on 1-of-8 for the game.

Wednesday's game marks the 10th in series history for Gardner-Webb and Campbell. The Fighting Camels hold a commanding 8-1 advantage in the overall record with GWU's lone win coming in 2022, a 15-14 victory in Buies Creek.
