BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's basketball team closes out the home portion of its 2025-26 regular season on Thursday, February 26, welcoming UNC Asheville to Paul Porter Arena for a 7 p.m. tip.

Gardner-Webb comes into the contest with a 3-26 overall record and 1-13 in Big South Conference action. The Runnin' Bulldogs have dropped seven in a row dating back to the first time these two teams met.
Sophomore forward Jacob Hogarth leads the Runnin' Bulldogs with 11.1 points per game while shooting better than 57% from the floor. Hogarth also pulls in a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game while compiling five double-doubles on the season. Sophomore Jacob Hudson is second on the team in scoring with 10 points per game while freshman Spence Sims averages 9.8 per game while being named Big South Freshman of the Week on five occasions this season.
As a team, Gardner-Webb shoots 43% from the field and 31% from deep. The Dawgs average 68.7 points per game while allowing 87.1 each contest. GWU trails on the rebounding side of the ball by an average of 39.4-30.7.
UNC Asheville comes into the contest with a 13-15 overall record and 7-7 mark in league play. The Bulldogs took care of Radford by the final of 74-73 in overtime during their last contest but were losers of two in a row prior to that.
Kameron Taylor leads the Bulldogs with 18.0 points per game while ranking second in the conference in scoring. Taylor also hauls in a team third-best 4.9 boards per game. Justin Wright (17.0) and Toyaz Solomon (15.9) rank second and third on the team in scoring, respectively, while Solomon collects a team-high 7.4 rebounds per game.
UNC Asheville averages 72.9 points per game while giving up 71.9 on the defensive side of the ball. The Bulldogs shoot at a .455 clip from the floor, including .353 from behind the arc. Asheville outrebounds its opponents 34.9-33.6.
Thursday's contest marks the 36th all-time meeting between Gardner-Webb and UNC Asheville with the Bulldogs owning a 22-13 advantage in the series history. UNCA has taken the previous four matchups, including a 69-50 win on January 29. Gardner-Webb's last win in the series came on February 24, 2024, a 78-77 win at Kimmel Arena.
