
Runnin' Bulldogs Drop Regular Season Finale to Radford, 65-59

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's basketball team (12-18, 9-7 Big South) dropped its regular season finale on Saturday afternoon, falling 65-59 to visiting Radford (20-11, 12-4 Big South)
With seeding on the line for the upcoming Big South Tournament, Radford and Gardner-Webb played a competitive game on Saturday inside Paul Porter Arena. The Runnin' Bulldogs took a 16-12 lead through one before Radford forged a small comeback, pulling away just enough down the stretch
The Runnin' Bulldogs led 50-49 entering the fourth quarter, seeking to secure a 10th conference win and one of its biggest wins of the season heading into March. In the fourth however, the Gardner-Webb offense was held to just 3-of-15 from the field. Gardner-Webb was able to lean on its defense some, holding Radford to just 5-of-15 in the final frame, but a 15-10 margin in the score saw Radford pull away
On the defensive end, Gardner-Webb was quite good again forcing Radford into 13 turnovers and ust 42% from the floor overall. Of those 13 turnovers, the Runnin' Bulldogs turned them into 19 points on the day
Junior guard Amina Gray finished off an impressive regular season as one of the most improved players in the Big South Conference, with another big game for Gardner-Webb on Saturday. Gray hit 6-of-14 from the floor, added a 4-of-8 mark from long range, to go along with 16 points and five rebounds
On senior day, redshirt senior guard Jaelyn Acker also had a big game for the Dawgs. Acker finished with 13 points and knocked down four three pointers, including one late in the fourth quarter as part of a four-point play
Junior guard Anaya Harris also had a big game for GWU, adding 12 points as the third Gardner-Webb player to score in double-figures, going 5-of-10 from the line with four assists and two rebounds
