CLINTON, S.C. – Gardner-Webb men's basketball returns to the hardwood on Saturday, February 7 as it travels to Clinton for a showdown with the Blue Hose of Presbyterian College.

Gardner-Webb is coming off a tough 86-66 loss versus Longwood on February 4. Freshman guard Jamias Ferere led all scorers with a career-high 16 points to go along with a personal-best seven boards. The Runnin' Bulldogs also received 11 points each from Colin Hawkins and DJ Jefferson.
Sophomore forward Jacob Hogarth leads the Runnin' Bulldogs with 10.7 points per game while shooting better than 56% from the floor. Hogarth also pulls in a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game to go along with five double-doubles on the year. Sims is second on the team in scoring with 10.5 per game while being named Big South Freshman of the Week on five occasions this season.
As a team, Gardner-Webb shoots 42% from the field and 30% from deep. The Dawgs average 67.6 points per game while allowing 87.0 each contest. GWU trails on the rebounding side of the ball by an average of 39.1-31.4.
Presbyterian comes into the contest with an 11-13 overall record while sitting at 4-5 in league play. The Blue Hose have lost three in a row against Winthrop, High Point and Radford. PC had a season-high three-game win streak from January 14-21.
Jonah Pierce leads the Blue Hose in scoring with 16.9 per game and rebounding at 9.8 each time out while Carl Parrish averages 13.9 per contest. Triston Wilson and Jaylen Peterson chip in 10.4 and 10.1 points per game, respectively. Peterson is second on the team with an average of 7.3 boards per game.
Presbyterian averages 72.7 points per game while giving up 72.0 on the defensive side of the ball. The Blue Hose shoot at a .475 clip from the floor, including .325 from behind the arc. PC outrebounds its opponents 35.8-30.7.
On Saturday afternoon, Presbyterian and Gardner-Webb meet for the 35th time in series history. The Blue Hose have picked up wins in the previous two meetings, including a decisive 92-55 win in Boiling Springs on January 17. Gardner-Webb's last win in Clinton came on January 11, 2023, a thrilling 79-78 overtime decision.
