CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Gardner-Webb left fielder Kelvin Agosto has been tabbed Big South Baseball Player of the Week as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.
Agosto drove in seven runs on three hits, including two home runs, in Gardner-Webb's series-opening 19-5 win over Oklahoma State. He batted .500 on the week in four games against the Cowboys and Duke, going 6-for-12 with two doubles, two home runs and seven RBIs. He also drew two walks to finish with a .600 on-base percentage and a 1.167 slugging percentage. Agosto had one hit in three at-bats against Duke before recording at least two hits in each of the next two games to open the OSU series.
Agosto and the Runnin' Bulldogs return to action this afternoon, facing Davidson in a mid-week clash. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
