Runnin' Bulldogs Welcome Wofford to Spangler Stadium Saturday Evening

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb women's lacrosse opens the Big South portion of its schedule on Saturday, March 28, playing host to the Terriers of Wofford College.

The Runnin' Bulldogs are still looking for their first win of the season after several close defeats, including a pair of one-goal games. However, Gardner-Webb has earned the lead in six of nine games this season.

In their last meeting, the Dawgs were defeated by Charlotte 24-6, despite a strong opening period.

Freshman sensation Maddie Tredway leads the Runnin' Bulldogs with 18 goals, including a hat trick in the Dawgs' last outing, to go along with five assists. She leads the team with 59 total draw controls while ranking 2nd in the league with 6.78 draw controls per contest. Jazmyn Morris has chipped in 13 scores while Jules Brown has dished out a team-high nine assists to go along with seven goals. Addi Cook has contributed nine goals and three assists for the Runnin' Bulldogs.

On the defensive side of the ball, Emma Anderson has played 508 minutes in goal while collecting 81 saves and a team-best 45 groundballs on the year. Anderson's 5.44 ground balls per game ranks second in the country at the Division I level while her 9.0 saves per game also places her 18th nationally. Abby Consaul leads the club with 18 caused turnovers, sitting 30th among the DI ranks with 2.00 caused turnovers per game.

Wofford comes into the contest with a 3-7 overall record and 1-0 in league play after defeating Longwood 22-9 on Wednesday, March 25. The Terriers are led by McKenzie Moeller's 22 goals while Emma Stalteri and Carlie Cutinella have chipped in 18 each.

Gardner-Webb leads the overall series with the Terriers, 5-3, but have lost the previous three matchups. The Runnin' Bulldogs took five straight from Wofford from 2018-2022.
