Women's Lacrosse Set to Welcome High Point Wednesday Afternoon

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's lacrosse team returns to action at Spangler Stadium on Wednesday afternoon, hosting the Panthers of High Point in Big South play.

LAST TIME OUT: The Runnin' Bulldogs are coming off an 11-9 road win at Longwood last Saturday. GWU is 2-4 in the Big South so far after scoring an impressive 15-12 road win at Winthrop back on April 4th, a contest where GWU scored seven first quarter goals en route to a victory.

IN GOAL: Junior goalkeeper Emma Anderson has been one of the best goalkeepers in not only the Big South Conference but also the nation so far in 2026. The Alpharetta, Ga. native leads the country in groundballs per game (5.0) and is currently third nationally in saves per game (10.87) and is fourth in total saves (163). Anderson has recorded double-digit saves in eight games this season, including a 17-save performance against Radford on Aprill 11.

STAR FRESHMAN: Also, among the Big South statistical leaders is freshman midfielder Maddie Tredway. Tredway has been excellent at the draw control for Gardner-Webb this season and ranks third in the conference with 99 draw controls won and an average of 7.07 per game. She previously set a league single game record back on March 13th, recording 18 draw controls against Quinnipiac.

BALANCED ATTACK: Six Runnin' Bulldogs have recorded double digit goals to this point in the season. Tredway leads the team with 24 goals, followed by freshman midfielder Jazmyn Morris with 20, freshman attack Addi Cook with 16, senior midfielder Emma Duchscherer with 17, sophomore attack Katie Westbrook with 12 and sophomore attack Jules Brown with 11..

THE DEFENSIVE END: In defense, the Runnin' Bulldogs are led by junior defense Abby Consaul, senior defender Holly Martindale, and freshman defender Andrea Hartman. Each are above 1.00 caused turnovers per game, with Consaul recording 24 for the season, good for fifth in the Big South at 1.60 per game, while Martindale and Hartman have 14 total.

SCOUTING HIGH POINT: High Point enters Wednesday's contest in a tie for second overall in the Big South with a 5-1 record in league play. The Panthers concede the fourth fewest goals in the league at 10.71 per game, while ranking fifth in the Big South with 161 total scores, finding the back of the net 11.50 times per game.

LOOKING AHEAD: The Runnin' Bulldogs host High Point tomorrow afternoon before welcoming Furman to Spangler Stadium for Senior Day and the regular season finale on Saturday, April 25.
