Women's Lacrosse Hosts Furman on Senior Day

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - The Gardner-Webb women's lacrosse team returns to action at Spangler Stadium on Saturday afternoon, hosting the Paladins of Furman on Senior Day.

LAST TIME OUT: The Runnin' Bulldogs are coming off a tough 13-6 loss against High Point on Wednesday, April 22. HPU used a 5-1 third quarter to pull away late in the contest.

IN GOAL: Junior goalkeeper Emma Anderson has been one of the best goalkeepers in not only the Big South Conference but also the nation so far in 2026. The Alpharetta, Ga. native leads the country in total saves (185) and is currently second nationally in saves per game (11.56) and ground balls per game (5.0). Anderson has recorded double-digit saves in nine games this season, including a career-high 22-save performance against High Point on Aprill 22.

STAR FRESHMAN: Also, among the Big South statistical leaders is freshman midfielder Maddie Tredway. Tredway has been excellent at the draw control for Gardner-Webb this season and ranks third in the conference with 101 draw controls won and an average of 6.73 per game. She previously set a career-high back on March 13th, recording 18 draw controls against Quinnipiac.

BALANCED ATTACK: Six Runnin' Bulldogs have recorded double digit goals to this point in the season. Tredway leads the team with 26 goals, followed by freshman midfielder Jazmyn Morris with 21, senior midfielder Emma Duchscherer with 18, freshman attack Addi Cook with 17, sophomore attack Katie Westbrrok with 13 and sophomore attack Jules Brown with 11..

THE DEFENSIVE END: In defense, the Runnin' Bulldogs are led by junior defense Abby Consaul, senior defender Holly Martindale, and freshman defender Andrea Hartman. Each are above 1.00 caused turnovers per game, with Consaul recording 26 for the season, good for fifth in the Big South at 1.63 per game, while Martindale and Hartman have 15 and 14, respectively.

SCOUTING FURMAN: Furman enters Wednesday's contest in fourth place overall in the Big South with a 4-3 record in league play. The Paladins score the third most goals in the league at 12.38 per game, while ranking first in the Big South with 104 assists and second with 18.88 points per game.
