Runnin' Bulldogs Gear Up for Showdown With Presbyterian

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Coming off its first win of the season, Gardner-Webb women's lacrosse returns to action on Wednesday, April 8 while playing host to the Blue Hose of Presbyterian inside Spangler Stadium.

The Runnin' Bulldogs took down Winthrop 15-12 this past Saturday after masterful performances from several key players. Offensively, Addi Cook led the charge with four goals on just four shots while fellow freshman Maddie Tredway put the ball on the side of the Dawgs with 14 draw controls. Emma Anderson played all 60 minutes in goal, racking up 13 saves, including two pivotal stops late in the fourth period.

Tredway leads the Runnin' Bulldogs with 21 goals to go along with six assists. She leads the team with 78 total draw controls while ranking 3rd in the league with 7.09 draw controls per contest. Jazmyn Morris and Cook have chipped in 16 and 14 scores, respectively, while Jules Brown has dished out a team-high 11 assists to go along with eight goals.

On the defensive side of the ball, Anderson has played 627 minutes in goal while collecting a conference-leading 105 saves and a team-best 51 groundballs on the year. Anderson's 4.8 ground balls per game also ranks second in the conference while her 9.55 saves per game also places her second in the Big South. Abby Consaul leads the club with 20 caused turnovers, sitting fifth in league play with 1.82 caused turnovers per game.

Presbyterian comes into the contest with a 3-9 overall record and 0-3 in league play after falling to Radford, 13-10, on Saturday, April 4. The Blue Hose are led by Emily Currie's 26                  goals while Alyssa Perez has chipped in 23 scores.

Gardner-Webb leads the overall series with the Blue Hose, 9-3, including winning seven of the previous eight matchups. The Dawgs took six straight from Presbyterian from 2018-2023.
