LEXINGTON, KY - The Gardner-Webb track and field team was in action again over the weekend, this time competing in the Jim Green Invitational at the University of Kentucky, part of a field loaded with power conference talent
Sophomore
Paige Boyd began the weekend for GWU by competing in the women's high jump final. She finished fifth place, the top finisher for a mid-major school, with a mark of 1.66 meters
Junior
Zoie Johnson took part in the women's discus throw final for the Dawgs. Johnson was also one of the highest finishers for a mid-major school, finishing 10th place with a mark of 46.26 meters. Teammate freshman
Hannah Hoffman was 12th at 45.34 meters
Speaking of Hoffman, she'd also take part in the women's hammer throw. She'd take 10th place with a mark of 48.66 meters
In the men's 400 meter hurdles final, senior
TJ Peebles had one of the best results of the weekend for Gardner-Webb. He was scored in eighth place at 54.74 seconds
Over in the men's long jump final. sophomore
Joshua Powell was outstanding for the Runnin' Bulldogs. With a mark of 7.37 meters, Powell picked up a fourth place finish
In men's triple jump, freshman Donovan Richardson was also near the top of the leaderboard for GWU. Richardson was fourth with a mark of 14.77 meters
One of GWU's regular performers on the national stage, senior
Quentin Peterson was in action in the men's shot put final. With a mark of 17.54 meters, Peterson finished 10th place. Peterson went one better in the men's discus throw final, finishing fifth with a mark of 56.57 meters in a field largely once again of power conference competition
In men's hammer throw, sophomore Jon Garrett was 10th with a mark of 54.73 meters, while senior
Robert Joseph Jr. was 12th at 52.71 meters
Freshman
Blaine Blose took part in the men's javelin throw for the Dawgs, He was sixth place, posting an outstanding mark of 54.18 meters
