Summary

Biography

Conor Beebe is in his second year as the graduateassistant coach for the Gardner-Webb
Wrestling Team.

In his first season at GWU in 2010-11, Beebe helped toguide four GWU student-athletes to become East Regional Championsand qualify for the 2011 NCAA National Championships,
the most that the Runnin' Bulldogs have had in a singleseason since sending
four grapplers to the nationals back in 2006.


Redshirt-senior Jonathan Velazquez was named the MostOutstanding Wrestler at the 2011 NCAA East Regional Championships,as he helped lead GWU to a second-place overall team finishwith
a total of 74.5 points at the meet. Velazquez, along withTravis Porter and
both Alex and Ryan Medved, were crowned East RegionalChampions in their
respective weight classes and qualified for the nationalchampionship
tournament.


In 2010-11, Gardner-Webb had four grapplers' record over20 wins on the season, while six wrestlers posted winning recordson the year. 


As a team, GWU picked up wins over Anderson (S.C.)University, Belmont Abbey, Davidson and east regional foesCampbell, Millersville and Sacred Heart, while posted a 22-22 tieat home
against Duke of the Atlantic Coast Conference on January21st.


In the classroom, redshirt-sophomore Alex Medved wastabbed as a 2011 National Wrestling Coaches Association NationalAcademic All-American, one of 92 student-athletes across the nationto receive this academic recognition.


In April 2011, Beebe competed at the 2011 Asics U.S. OpenMen's Freestyle Tournament,
finishing 3-2 overall for the two-day event and justmissing out on qualifying
for the U.S. World Team Trails.


Beebe, who graduated in August 2010 with a degree inBusiness Administration, excelled on
the mat during his time at Central MichiganUniversity.  While at Central
Michigan, Beebe was a four-time NCAA qualifier, while in2010 he was the MAC
Conference Champion and was named to the 2010 First-TeamAll-Conference. 


In 2010, Beebe, a two-time Midlands Place winner, receivedthe Coaches Award, as he
served as the captain of the wrestling team.


Beebe was also a four-time Illinois State Champion on themat.


Beebe, who has done various charity works through the RedCross, Special Olympics and
Adopt a Family Charity, has spent the last four summersworking various
wrestling camps at Holland High School, Loyola Academy andCentral Michigan
University.

Elliott.  "His knowledge, skill set and experiencewill help our team
tremendously."
