Madison Hunsaker is in her first season as Director of Football Operations at Gardner-Webb University, filling a vital role with the Runnin’ Bulldogs.
Hunsaker joined the GWU family from Missouri State, where she spent the past season as Intern Director of Operations with the Bears’ football program in the powerful Missouri Valley Football Conference. She assisted with recruiting, day-to-day operations and key game day operations, including visits, travel, meals and social media content.
Hunsaker was a successful student-athlete at Missouri State, playing softball with the Bears at a high level. A pitcher and first baseman, Hunsaker was a two-time All-Missouri Valley selection and earned first-team NFCA All-Region honors in 2021.
She played in 200 career games and made 93 appearances as a pitcher, forging a .288 batting average with 11 home runs, 87 RBI and 56 runs scored at the plate. She won 21 games in the circle with a 3.02 career ERA and 227 strikeouts.
Hunsaker batted .319 as a senior with 11 doubles and 24 RBI, earning first-team All-MVC honors and a spot on the Missouri Valley All-Tournament Team. She also hurled 70.2 innings and made 15 starts at pitcher.
Hunsaker was a four-time member of the MVC Honor Roll and was named to the Missouri State Athletic Director’s Honor Roll eight times. She was also a member of the MSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, serving as president in 2021-2022.
A native of Peculiar, Mo., Hunsaker graduated from Missouri State with a degree in business administration management and recently completed requirements for her MBA with a certificate in marketing.
