Roberto Vasques is in his second season assisting with theBulldogs. Originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, Vasques is a2007 graduate of Gardner-Webb University, and a former member ofthe GWU men's tennis team.
Vasques began play at the No. 3 position for the Bulldogs hisfreshman season. He moved up to No. 2 mid-way through hisfreshman year and continued there until his until his sophomoreyear. In his second year, Vasques moved up to play No. 1 forthe Bulldogs and remained GWU's No.1 until his senior year wheredropped back down to No. 2.
Vasques was named to the Atlantic Sun's All-Freshman Team hisfirst year playing. He was also named the Bulldogs' mostimproved player that year. Vasques continued to improvethrough his career at GWU, earning Varsity Letter Awards from theUniversity in 2006 and 2007. He also was named to the ITAAcademic All American in 2006 and 2007, along with GWU's AcademicAll-Sports Team. Vasques was also a member of the AtlanticSun's All-Academic Team from 2005-2007.
In his last year at GWU, Vasques earned the World Trade ResourceAward by Gardner-Webb University's Broyhill School ofBusiness. He is currently seeking an MBA with an emphasis inFinance.
