Daniel Elliott begins his third season with the Gardner-Webbprogram. It is Elliott’s first season as an assistant coachafter spending the past two seasons as a graduate assistantfollowing a stellar collegiate career for Richard Wince.
During his career for the Bulldogs, Elliott was a two-time NCAAQualifier. He was also a two-time regional champion at 149. In hislast regional meet, Elliott was named the Most OutstandingWrestler. He finished the regular season with a record of 39-2during his senior campaign and was ranked 10th in the finalstandings.
Elliott holds the school record for career wins, single-seasonwins in addition to consecutive wins. He also led the team in eachof his last three seasons in takedowns.
Last spring, Elliott competed in the USA Wrestling NortheastRegional and placed third in his weight class, marking the firsttime that he had placed at a senior-level event.
Elliott graduated in May 2006 with a double major in history andcommunications. This past summer, he earned his masters in sportssciences and pedagogy.
