Bill Masters Field at John Henry Moss Stadium
Bill Masters Field at John Henry Moss Stadium has been the home of Gardner-Webb baseball for the past ten seasons.
Dedicated on September 18, 2010, the facility has seating capacity for 550Â with further expansion possible. A majority of seats are shielded from the elements under a protective awning that extends the length of the press box. A large fan and two heaters also provide fans comfort from the elements throughout the season.
The dugouts, at 70 feet long, are some of the largest in the Big South and entire nation, each having unique features of their own. The 3rd base dugout will feature an expansive umpire locker room, complete with shower, locker, and lounge facilities for game day umpires as well as game day storage and bathroom facilities for the Runnin’ Bulldogs. Just steps off the 1st base dugout will be an indoor hitting tunnel available for Gardner-Webb players to make swing adjustments on during practice.
Recent upgrades to the facility include the installation of field turf and the expansion of the bullpen area along the 3rd base line.
Amenities in the press box include two VIP suites complete with outdoor patios, kitchen area for catering and bathroom facilities, two broadcast booths for videostreaming and radio, and a spacious press area for members of the media.
Gardner-Webb’s baseball clubhouse is located in the Masters Athletic Complex just beyond right field. Locker and shower facilities for the program as well as a team meeting room highlight the complex. Just outside the locker room is a practice facility complete with hitting and pitching bays that allows the team to have the flexibility to hold drills when weather becomes a factor.
Recent updates to the Master Athletic Complex include various wall graphics honoring the past and present of Gardner-Webb baseball, including highlights of GWU's wins over Power Five Conference programs and the those who have been selected in the MLB Draft.
