NASHVILLE, Tenn. The Gardner-Webb men's cross country team was paced by all-conference performer Lucas McAneney Saturday afternoon en route to a fifth-place finish at the A-Sun meet. The women were led by Abby Callahan and took ninth, despite multiple injuries to the squad.
McAneney edged out Belmont sophomore Ben McGlothin for 10th place at the meet, earning all-conference honors. Only the top 10 finishers earn all-conference status. McAneney finished the 8k course in 26:12 with McGlothin crossing the line in 26:13.
Senior Joshua Hudson nearly captured all-conference accolades with his 13th-place finish. Hudson garnered a time of 26:23, which was a 5:19 mile pace throughout the course.
Fellow fourth-year competitor Alex Nimmo was 25th in the standings after finishing in 27:06. Not too far behind him was junior Tim Israel, who placed 36th. Israel crossed the line in 27:44.

On the women's side, Callahan wasn't too far off of earning all-conference honors. She placed 16th with a time of 19:34 for the 5k race.
