GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb volleyball team fell 3-1 at North Carolina A&T on Tuesday evening in non-conference action. The Runnin' Bulldogs took the first set by a 25-22 score, yet the Aggies took the following three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-13, and 25-18.
With the loss Gardner-Webb falls to 7-11 on the season, while North Carolina A&T improves to 9-9 overall with the win.
The Runnin' Bulldogs hit .126 for the match with 44 kills, while the Aggies attacked at a .244 percentage with 53 kills.
Kaelyn Dyson led Gardner-Webb on the attack, tallying 11 kills on 23 swings, hitting at a .261 clip. She also had three block assists on the evening.
Tyra Long had nine kills, while
Keira Moore,
Nicole Celarek, and
Molly Johnston each had eight smashes on the evening.
Amanda Sahm had a double-double with 25 assists and 10 digs, while
Abbey Sprinkle also reached double-figures in assists with 12.
Emma Milstead led the team with 13 digs.
North Carolina A&T had three players reach double-digits in kills, as Samara Brown and Edie Brewer had 13 kills, while Courteney Pitt collected 10 smashes.
Lindor led the Aggies with one solo block five block assists, while Brewer led the squad with 25 assists. Milanna Morgan led the team with 18 digs.
Gardner-Webb returns to action on Saturday, October 7, hosting Big South Conference foe High Point. The match is set for a 5:00 pm start time inside Paul Porter Arena.
