2019 at Gardner-Webb: Missed significant action due to a back injury but was able to play in 13 matches, totaling 41 sets on the season ... Ranked third on the team with 106 kills and first with 2.59 kills per set ... Set a career high in kills with 16 and digs with 12 at Campbell (Nov. 1) for her first career double-double ... Of the 13 matches played on the season, Johnston was able to reach double digit kills in six of them.
2018 at Gardner-Webb: Saw action in 49 sets throughout the season … Totaled 77 kills and 27 total blocks … Averaged 1.57 kills per set and 0.55 blocks per set … Had a season-high 13 kills at Winthrop (Nov. 6) … Also had 10 kills against Jackson State (Aug. 24) and at Presbyterian (Nov. 2) … Had a season-best six total blocks against Middle Tennessee State (Sept. 14).
2017 at Gardner-Webb: Played in 52 sets throughout the season … Ranked sixth on the team in blocks (28) … Also had 79 kills and five kills during the year … Had a season-best nine blocks in a four-set win at N.C. Central (Sept. 12) … Had double-digit kills on three occasions, with a season-high 12 in a five set win against N.C. Central (Sept. 1) and a four-set loss at UNC Asheville (Sept. 19) … Member of the Big South Presidential Honor Roll.
2016 at Gardner-Webb: Played in 73 sets … Ranked sixth on the team in kills (108) and in blocks (27) … Had a season-high 12 kills in a five-set victory over Davidson (Sep. 17) … Tallied nine kills in a 3-0 win over N.C. Central (Oct. 18) … Collected a season-high five blocks in a straight-set win at Presbyterian (Oct. 29) … Had four blocks at UNC Asheville (Oct. 25).
High School/Club: Two-sport athlete in volleyball and track and field at Trinity Christian School in Lubbock, Texas under head coach Tyler Neal … Named both the All-State and All-Region Player of the Year in 2016 … Selected District Offensive Player of the Year in addition to a spot on the all-state tournament team … Totaled 696 kills, 158 blocks and 65 service aces over the past two seasons at Trinity Christian, while hitting .290 as a senior … Led Trinity Christian to back-to-back state championships as a junior and senior … Played club for Guns Up Volleyball Club under head coach Josh Jowers.
