Jack Hoey Tabbed Big South Attacking Player of the Week

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Big South Conference released their weekly honors this afternoon, which included junior, Jack Hoey as the Attacking Player of the Week.
Hoey was instrumental this week in the Runnin' Bulldogs two matches. Wednesday evening, the Gardner-Webb men's soccer team traveled to Buies Creek, N.C. to take on conference opponent Campbell University. In the 55th minute, Hoey found the back of the net to give Gardner-Webb a 1-0 lead. The Runnin' Bulldogs would go on to tie Campbell 1-1 in double overtime.
Against Longwood on Saturday, Hoey continued to impress as he netted his second goal in as many games. With Longwood leading 1-0 in the 75th minute, Hoey scored an impressive goal as he took a left-footed shot, securing a spot in the lower left 90 of the goal. Gardner-Webb would go on to win the match 2-1 as Mads Rismoen scored the game-winner in the 90th minute.
Hoey is the fourth Runnin' Bulldog this season to earn weekly honors from the Big South this season. Severin Soerlie was named Attacking Player of the Week on September 25, in addition to Oskar Wang, Freshman of the Week, for their performances against Furman as the 'Dawgs collected a 5-4 win in double overtime.
Marc-Kevin Schwenk also was tabbed with Defensive Player of the Week honors on October 9th.
The Runnin' Bulldogs round out their regular season campaign this Wednesday as they welcome Winthrop University to Greene-Harbison Stadium for a 6:00 PM match.
