Tierra Huntsman Named Big South Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Gardner-Webb redshirt-senior guard Tierra Huntsman has been named the Big South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played December 4-10, as announced by the league office this afternoon.
Huntsman (Connersville, Ind. / Connersville HS) led the Runnin' Bulldogs to a 73-55 victory over Wofford in the team's lone contest this past week, scoring 26 points and pulling down 12 rebounds, both career highs, and her second consecutive double-double.
Huntsman was 7-for-15 from the floor, including 4-for-6 from long distance, and was also 8-for-9 at the free throw line. She also added two assists and one steal in 37 minutes of play. It was also her fourth 20-point performance of the season.
Huntsman leads Gardner-Webb in scoring (17.4 ppg), rebounds (7.3 rpg) and steals (1.9 spg) thus far this season.
Gardner-Webb (6-2) returns to action this upcoming Friday afternoon at Davidson at 11:30 am.
