Tierra Huntsman Earns Big South Player of the Week Honors For Second Straight Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference has selected Tierra Huntsman as its women's basketball Player of the Week for games played December 11-17, the second straight week she has earned league accolades.
Huntsman (Connersville, Ind. / Connersville HS) helped lead the Runnin' Bulldogs to a pair of victories this past week, averaging team-bests with 22.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.0 steals.
Friday afternoon at Davidson, Huntsman scored 23 points on 5-of-14 shooting to lead GWU to a 70-65 victory. The redshirt-senior guard added seven rebounds and tied her career high with six steals in 38 minutes of play. Her 11-of-15 performance at the free throw line helped seal the win, as she was 8-of-8 at the charity stripe in the final minute of play.
Huntsman also achieved a key career milestone at Davidson, as she became the 22nd player in program history to score 1,000 or more points.
Sunday at Mount St. Mary's, Huntsman tallied 22 points on an 8-of-14 performance from the floor, including 4-of-5 from long distance in GWU's 75-67 win over the Mountaineers. She also grabbed six boards, dished out three assists, and had two steals in 37 minutes of action.
Gardner-Webb (8-2) returns to action on Wednesday, December 28 at 7:00 pm, hosting Western Carolina. The game will be broadcast live on the Big South Network (www.bigsouthsports.com).
