Runnin' Bulldogs Show Well in Exhibition Match

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs Men's Soccer team took the field tonight at Greene-Harbison Stadium against Lees-McRae College in their first exhibition match of the season.
Tonight's match up featured two games. First, at 6:00 PM the reserves from each team took the field. Head Coach Tony Setzer said "It was nice to see our guys go out there and compete; which allowed us to see some more of their potential."
Following that match, the starters took the field for their opportunity against Lees-McRae. "We were able to take some of the things we have been working on in practice and apply them in tonight's match," Setzer said pleased.
The game also served the Runnin' Bulldogs as an opportunity to see how well the matched up against another opponent. While playing well tonight, Coach Setzer recognized and claimed "there are still some details that we can tend to this week in practice to make sure we are well-prepared for the upcoming season."
With one more exhibition match on deck this preseason for Setzer's team, the Runnin' Bulldogs will square off with Lenoir-Rhyne later this week.
The team will open their season on the road this Friday, Aug. 25th against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
