Keira Moore Named Big South Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Gardner-Webb redshirt-junior Keira Moore earned Big South Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honors for matches played September 4-10, as announced by the conference office earlier today.
Moore (Spartanburg, S.C / Spartanburg HS) had 24 blocks in four matches, averaging 1.60 blocks per set to help lead Gardner-Webb to a 3-1 record for the week.
This past weekend, Moore helped lead the Runnin' Bulldogs to perfect record at the ECU Classic, starting the tournament with nine blocks, 10 kills, three digs, and three service aces in a 3-1 win over The Citadel on Friday morning. Later that evening, Moore tallied eight blocks, 10 kills, three digs, and three aces in a 3-2 win over East Carolina.
Moore currently leads the Big South with 49 total blocks on the season, averaging 1.26 blocks per set, while Gardner-Webb has held its opponents to a Big South best .144 hitting percentage.
The Runnin' Bulldogs (5-5) return to action tomorrow evening at North Carolina Central at 6:00 pm.
