The Runnin' Bulldogs (28-27, 8-13 BSC) will play No. 4 Campbell (26-25, 12-9 BSC) in the opening game of the tournament on Wednesday, May 9. The contest will take place at 12 p.m. on the campus of tournament host Radford University.
Gardner-Webb went 1-2 against the Fighting Camels when they visited Boiling Springs for a three-game series on March 9-10.
After Campbell clinched the series victory with an 11-8 victory in game one and an 8-4 win in the second game, the Runnin' Bulldogs denied the Fighting Camels the sweep.
In game three, Gardner-Webb battled back from a 7-3 deficit after just two innings to win by a 12-9 score.
The 'Dogs tied the game at seven in the third when Andria Booth batted in Katie Stettler and again at eight in the fifth inning thanks to a sacrifice fly from Katie Prebble.
With the score knotted at eight, Gardner-Webb would go on to take the lead in the same inning when Kaylee Wacaster hit a three-run shot to center field.
Prebble's RBI walk in the sixth gave GWU a 12-8 lead and Campbell was unable to come back despite a solo home run.
At the plate, Gardner-Webb is led by Booth and Prebble. Booth is hitting .473, which places her fourth in the nation. She leads the country with 87 hits.
Prebble, who has had a stellar freshman campaign, is hitting .436 with 22 home runs, 69 RBIs, 102 total bases and a .973 slugging percentage.
Prebble ranks in the top four nationally in six different statistical categories and leads the nation in RBIs and total bases.
