CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Gardner-Webb middle blocker Hannah Donaldson has been named the Big South Conference Volleyball Freshman of the Week following action from the opening week of the 2018 season.
 
Donaldson (Virginia Beach, Va. / Ocean Lakes HS) finished the weekend with 26 kills and 21 blocks, leading Gardner-Webb to a 2-1 record at the 2018 SWAC/MEAC Crossover Tournament in Atlanta, Ga.
 
In her collegiate debut, Donaldson totaled six kills and 10 blocks in a five-set win over Jackson State on Friday evening.
 
Saturday, Donaldson had seven kills and three blocks in a four-set loss to Alabama State, and later posted 13 kills and eight blocks in a five-set win over Alabama A&M to wrap up the weekend.
 
For the weekend, Donaldson led the Runnin Bulldogs with a .380 attack percentage.
 
Gardner-Webb returns to action on Friday afternoon, taking on North Carolina Central in the opening match of the 2018 Phoenix Classic at 4:00 pm in Elon, N.C.
