GWU Sits in Eighth After Day One of Big South Indoor Track & FIeld Championships

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Gardner-Webb women's indoor track and field team sits in eighth place after the first day of the 2019 Big South Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, taking place at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg, Va.
After one day, Hampton leads the field, followed by High Point and Campbell.
Khalilah Conway placed fifth overall in the high jump with a mark of 1.55 meters, matching her career-best mark.
Taliyah Wade finished in sixth place in the shot put with a toss of 12.22 meters. Arleasia McGee placed 11th with a mark of 11.16 meters.
In the 400-meter dash prelims, Diviana Forrest clocked in at 58.36 seconds, setting a new PR, to place seventh and advance to Saturday's finals. Hannah Sparacio finished 14th at 1:01.85, and Kelsey Houser clocked in at 1:06.21 to place 18th.
The distance medley relay team of Sandra Bolstad, Hannah Sparacio, Hannah Jones, and Logan McGuirt timed in at 14:26.57 to take home an eighth-place finish.
Hannah Jones placed 12th in the 800-meter run, crossing the line at 2:27.82.
Khalilah Conway finished 14th in the 60-meter hurdles, timing in at 11.00 seconds.
In the 5,000-meter run, Logan McGuirt placed 15th with a time of 21:29.25. Courtney Kanetzke finished 16th with a time of 21:41.95
Kira Ramsey placed 18th in the 200-meter dash at 27.22 seconds. Maya Mallory followed in 19th with a time of 27.94 seconds.
In the 60-meter dash, Kira Ramsey placed 23rd with a time of 8.18 seconds. Maya Mallory placed 25th at 8.41 seconds, a new personal-best time.
The 2019 Big South Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships continue tomorrow afternoon at noon.
