Gardner-Webb's Jada Preston Named Big South Conference Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE – Gardner-Webb's Jada Preston was named Big South Conference lacrosse Freshman of the Week on Tuesday, marking the second time this season she has earned the award.
Preston (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. / St. Thomas Aquinas HS) nearly helped Gardner-Webb to a win in its Big South opener, scoring a team-high four goals and dishing off two assists in a 16-15 loss at Radford.
Preston put all seven of her shots on goal Saturday and her six-point effort is the second-best of her career to date in Boiling Springs.
She is tied for the team lead currently with 39 points, while pacing Gardner-Webb (5-6, 0-1) and the entire Big South Conference with 21 assists. She has two game-winning goals to her credit.
Gardner-Webb returns home on Wednesday afternoon, hosting No. 24 High Point at 4:00 pm in Ernest W. Spangler Stadium. The game will stream live on ESPN+.
