ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb outdoor track and field team posted three top-ten results in the first day of the three-day 2019 Big South Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, taking place at Winthrop's Irwin Belk Track and Field Complex.
The Runnin' Bulldogs also set three new personal records throughout the opening day of competition.
Khalilah Conway finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 1:04.12 to advance to the finals on Friday.
Hannah Sparacio finished ninth, timing in at 1:05.66.
In the discus,
Cailen Blaire finished eighth with a mark of 37.55 meters.
Taliyah Wade placed tenth with a distance of 35.86 meters, setting a new PR.
Diviana Forrest placed eight in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 25.60 seconds, to move on to the finals on Friday.
Kira Ramsey finished 15
th with a time of 26.69 seconds, followed by
Maya Mallory in 16
th place at 27.49 seconds.
Sandra Bolstad finished 16
th overall in the 1,500-meter run, crossing the line with a time of 5:04.80, setting a new personal record for the event.
The 2019 Big South Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships continue tomorrow afternoon at the Irwin Belk Track and Field Complex in Rock Hill, S.C.
