BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb volleyball team fell to visiting Presbyterian in straight sets on Saturday afternoon inside Paul Porter Arena.
Gardner-Webb (2-11, 0-2 Big South) dropped all three sets to Presbyterian (6-9, 1-1 Big South) by scores of 25-15, 25-14, and 25-7. The Runnin' Bulldogs totaled 18 kills on 78 attempts for a .051 attack percentage while Presbyterian had 38 kills on 85 swings for a .306 attacking rate.
Hannah Donaldson and
Elizabeth Griffith each had five kills to lead the Gardner-Webb attack, while
Gwyn Brooks provided a team-high nine assists.
Charissa Coleman led the team with 13 digs, while
Alexandria Roycraft had five total blocks to lead that effort.
The Blue Hose were led on the attack by Erin Cooke, who had ten kills on the day. Sierra Jones dished out a match-best 20 assists.
Lauren Talbert led PC with 14 digs, while Hannah Chapman and Gracie Davis each had two total blocks.
GWU returns to action Friday, October 4 at USC Upstate. The match is slated for a 6:00 pm start time with live coverage on ESPN+.
