
Track and Field Runnin’ Bulldogs Set Personal Records at the Buccaneer Invitational

JOHNSON CITY, TN – This Friday and Saturday Gardner-Webb's men and women competed in the 2020 Buccaneer Track and Field Invitational in Johnson City, Tennessee.
In the men's weight throw, Josh Fischer placed fifth with a 16.15-meter throw, Kenny VanVorst placed sixth with a 15.75-meter throw, and Clay Hamilton finished 13th with a 14.45-meter throw.
For the women's pole vault, Randy Campbell came in fourth place with a mark of 3.25 meters. This marks a new personal record for Campbell, who broke her previous personal record just two weeks ago at the VMI Keydet Invitational.
In the women's weight throw, Karmen Taylor placed eighth with a mark of 15.24 meters. That is a new personal record for Taylor, as well as a tie for tenth in the programs top-ten list. Taliyah Wade also placed 14th in the event with a mark of 13.90 meters.
Ryan McGuffin placed sixth in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.92 meters. This marks a new personal best for McGuffin, and a new fourth place record in the programs top ten history. James Hinton earned a tenth-place record in the program as well as a personal best with a mark of 6.47 meters, finishing in 16th place. Austin Evans also placed 23rd with a mark of 6.16 meters.
In the women's shot put, Taliyah Wade placed 14th by hitting the 10.59-meter mark. Teammate Karmen Taylor placed 19th with a mark of 10.10 meters.
For the men's triple jump, Austin Evans placed ninth overall with a mark of 13.55 meters.
In the men's shot put, Josh Fischer hit 15.40 meters earning him third place overall in the event. Clay Hamilton placed ninth with a mark of 14.06 meters, and Kenny VanvVrst placed 17th with a mark of 12.96 meters.
Courtney Kanetzke placed 13th in the women's 3000 meter with a time of 12:44.33, and teammate Logan McGuirt placed 15th with a time of 13:10.18.
For the men's 3000 meter, Matthew Cloninger placed 23rd with a time of 10:07.43, which marks a personal best for Cloninger.
Sandra Bolstad ran a time of 5:36.30 in the women's one mile placing 12th, which is also a personal record for her. Faith Parandhamaia also ran a personal record with a time of 5:51.84, placing 23rd overall.
In the men's 800 meters Joe Waller ran a personal best with a time of 2:03.57, placing 30th overall.
Callie Rhea had a personal best in the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.97 seconds.
In the women's 60 meters, Sarianna Miranda-Rosado had a personal best of 8.18 seconds.
For the men's 60 meters, James Hinton had a personal best with a time of 7.23 seconds placing 35th overall. Justin Carson had a PR as well with a time of 7.32 placing 47th overall.
Shylee Stocks had a huge second place finish for GWU in the women's 400 meters. Stocks went a time of 58.59 seconds, which is also seventh overall in the programs top ten records. Kelsey Houser had a PR with a time of 1:03.29 placing 30th overall.
In the women's 4 x 400-meter relay, the squad of Rhea, Houser, Parandhamia, and Robinson placed 12th overall with a time of 4:22.91.
For the men's 4 x 400-meter relay, the quartet of Williams, Waller, Buzzard, and Sastre ran a time of 3:34.74 placing seventh overall.
