Karin Sastre Named To 2020 Big South Women’s Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - Redshirt Senior Karin Sastre (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) has been named to the 2020 Big South Women's Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team.
Sastre boasts a stellar 4.00 GPA in Gardner-Webb's MBA program in the Godbold School of Business. She was an All-Conference performer in the indoor pole vault in 2019, and had a personal-best of 3.70m in the pole vault at the 2018 Duke Invitational.
This past winter, Sastre placed fifth in the pole vault by reaching a height of 3.51 meters at the 2020 Big South Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The Big South Women's Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team consists of one student-athlete from each institution that meets the criteria of having completed at least one academic year at the institution, maintains at least a cumulative 3.0 grade-point average and is of sophomore standing (academically and athletically). The team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year award are selected by the Big South Conference Sports Information Directors. This year's team combined for a 3.88 GPA, and is as follows:
