BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb baseball program has announced its 2021 schedule, highlighted by 24 contests at Bill Masters Field at John Henry Moss Stadium.
This year, all Big South Conference teams will play 40 league games while allowing for each team to schedule up to 10 non-conference games. The schedule features 12 weekend three-game series, plus four mid-week league games.
The Runnin' Bulldogs open their 2021 campaign by hosting nearby foe Wofford on February 19 and 20, before making the short trip to Spartanburg, S.C. to wrap up the series against the Terriers on February 21.
GWU will remain on the road for the next three weeks, playing a four-game series at Georgia (February 26-28) before opening Big South play at Campbell (March 5-6) at Winthrop (March 12-13), and a midweek bout at Radford (March 16).
Gardner-Webb returns home to host Charleston Southern (March 19-20) before hitting the road again for a midweek game at UNC Asheville (March 23), a three-game series at High Point (March 26-27) and a midweek contest at South Carolina (March 30).
The 'Dogs host Longwood (April 1-2) and Western Carolina (April 7) before a series at USC Upstate (April 9-10), and then open a nine-game home stand, hosting UNC Greensboro (April 13), Campbell (April 16-17), UNC Asheville (April 20) and Winthrop (April 23-24).
GWU will then travel to North Carolina (April 27), Charleston Southern (April 30-May 1), Western Carolina (May 4), and Presbyterian (May 7-8), before returning home for contests against Radford (May 11) and UNC Asheville (May 14-15).
Gardner-Webb will travel for one last midweek contest at N.C. State on May 18 before returning home to wrap up the regular season with a conference series against Radford (May 20-21).
The 2021 Big South Conference Baseball Championship is scheduled for May 27-29 at SEGRA Stadium in Fayetteville, N.C., with the top-four finishers in the Big South regular season standings making the trip to potentially earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
