Bullard Promoted to Director of Player Development and Scouting

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb head coach Tim Craft has announced the promotion of Adam Bullard to Director of Player Development and Scouting. Bullard, who joined the Runnin' Bulldogs as a graduate assistant in 2017, has served as Director of Basketball Operations on the staff since 2019.

"Adam has been an integral part of our coaching staff for the last four years," said Craft. "He has demonstrated proficiency in a variety of key areas of our program and this change in title better reflects his responsibilities on our staff. I am thankful to have Adam with us, and I am looking forward to his continued positive impact on Gardner-Webb basketball."

Bullard, who will continue to lead the way in a number of administrative areas, will now be more involved with opponent scouting, self-scouting and off-the-court player development. Due to a recent NCAA waiver in coaching staff responsibilities, he is also now permitted to have on-court coaching duties when one of Gardner-Webb's countable coaches is away from the team due to recruiting or other reasons.

"I have been so blessed to have the opportunity to serve this program and this university for the past four years," Bullard reflected. "Our staff and players are tremendous, and our culture makes it enjoyable to come to work each day. I am eternally grateful to Coach Craft for this new opportunity to serve in a new role and enhance the program in this capacity."

After two standout seasons as a graduate assistant, Bullard was promoted to his position as Director of Basketball Operations in 2019 following Gardner-Webb's first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. He was tasked with overseeing a staff of graduate assistants and managers, as well as handling the day-to-day operations of the men's basketball program, roles that he will continue to take lead moving forward.

Bullard joined the Gardner-Webb family after spending time as a student assistant at his alma mater, Western Carolina, and in the high school coaching ranks at Blue Ridge Early College in Cashiers, N.C. He served as the head coach of the 2018-19 GWU reserve basketball team, which played its inaugural schedule that year against other college junior varsity programs from around the region.

Bullard graduated from Western Carolina in 2017 with a degree in sport management and finished his graduate degree at Gardner-Webb in 2019, majoring in sports education.
