CLINTON, S.C. – Gardner-Webb traveled to Presbyterian to conclude the team's road matches for this fall with the Runnin' Bulldogs needing points stay in the conference playoff race. The teams traded scores all game, needing extra time, but neither team scored the winning goal.
PC had the first score of the day coming off Niklas Hoener's boot in the 33
rd minute.
Sebastian Reventlow answered with a goal of his own off an
Odal Brown assist with a minute until halftime to tie the match.
Gardner-Webb tallied goals in the 66
th and 72
nd to respond to scores by Presbyterian to bring the match to 3-3. The first was scored by
Ryan Madondo, and the second by
Owen Zaldivar.
Just before the Zaldivar goal, PC's Connor Hudson was sent off with a red card. After Hudson was sent off, the 'Dogs outshot the home team, 8-2, for the remainder of the game, including extra time. The teams combined to have one shot on target, and it was by
Ryan Madondo in the 92
nd minute forcing the sixth save by Valentin Kliebe.
Robby Spradlin had two saves on the day, each coming early in the second half.
Gardner-Webb concludes the regular season Wednesday, November 3 at 6:00 p.m. against Winthrop at Greene-Harbison Stadium. The team will also have its Senior Day celebration on Wednesday.
