BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb's Women's Lacrosse program released its 2022 schedule on Friday afternoon and features 17 matches, eight at home and nine on the road.
 
The Runnin' Bulldogs will travel to Durham, N.C. for their season opener against Duke on February 11 and wrap up that weekend's action with the first home game of the year that Sunday by hosting Howard on February 13.
 
Gardner-Webb's remaining two nonconference home matches feature the 'Dogs welcoming Akron (2/20) and Cincinnati (2/25).
 
After these, the 'Dogs travel to Washington, D.C. to play American (3/5) and George Washington (3/7). To conclude nonconference play, GWU will go to Florida to play Stetson on March 19 and Kennesaw State on March 26.
 
Gardner-Webb will begin Big South play on the road against one of the top schools in the conference in Winthrop on March 30.
 
After that match, GWU will play the three newest additions to the Big South for women's lacrosse, Furman (4/2), at Mercer (4/6), Wofford (4/9). Gardner-Webb rounds out its road matches on April 13 at Campbell and April 20 at Radford with a home game against Presbyterian sandwiched between these on April 16.
 
The regular season will end with a two-game homestand as the 'Dogs host Longwood on April 23 and High Point on April 27.
 
The season culminates with the 2022 Big South Conference Championship. The top six teams will qualify for the event. The first round will have the higher seeds host for these games on April 30. High Point will host the semifinals and finals of the tournament on May 6 and 8 and the champion earns a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
