ROCK HILL, N.C. – On Wednesday night Gardner-Webb Men's Soccer earned their fifth win of the season. Taking home the win over Winthrop with a final score 1-0, Gardner-Webb.

Tony Setzer. "We were able to execute in key areas of the game tonight, helping us to bring home another win for the program."
Early in the game at the 18 minute mark, senior midfielder
Abel Gebrekiros scored what would become the eventual game winning goal off of a pass from teammate Pa Nijie. The eventual game winning goal marks Gebrekiros fourth goal this season.
Benjamin Schade spent the full 90 minutes between the posts for Gardner-Webb, having three saves in tonight's matchup.
Although Winthrop lost the contest, the Eagles did lead the night in shots, posting a total of 16 with four of those on goal. Gardner-Webb only took six shots, with just a pair on goal.
Gebrekiros led the Runnin' Bulldogs with two, while Sam Catherall and
Kharrel Medza both posted just one shot each.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will be back in action at home on Saturday, March 3
rd at 4:00 PM, as they take on USC Upstate.
